The VPRO Television Guide has announced the winner of the design competition for the first cover of 2019. The first cover of the year is designed by Tharim Cornelisse, a WdKA Illustration alumnus (2018).

This year's competition theme was: Warming up. After the blazing hot year 2018, we have to expect that 2019 will be even hotter. We have to prepare ourselves for a world approaching its boiling point. Discussions only seem to be conducted in a heated tone, hotpants keep on getting shorter and the fans are permanently sold out. It is a race against the clock. Hence the subject for the VPRO Guide design competition for the first cover of 2019: a very actual problem of Warming up!
Jury:
The jury panel this year consists of three members: illustrator Olivier Heiligers, VPRO Guide art director Beate Wegloop and editor Elja Looijestijn.
