Master Interior Architecture: Research + Design (MIARD)
The Master Interior Architecture: Research + Design (MIARD) invites qualified candidates to apply for a design position in spatial practices. The new curriculum module focuses on the visual culture of expanded spatial practices, critically examining how spatial environments are shaped by current events, issues, and crises. Emphasizing the complex, mediated realities of inter-species experience in the 21st century, the course explores aesthetics, spatial imaginaries, representation, and the theory and practice of space and architecture in relation to visual culture. Planned with thematic lectures and a studio-based Spatial Lab for self-directed research, collective exchange, and the production of spatial conjecture. Additionally, the new tutor will contribute as a design supervisor during the graduation project.
The profile of the candidate is one who identifies with—and can push forward—the multi-disciplinary, design and research-intensive approach of the program. We are looking for a spatial practitioner and educator whose work expands across visual studies and architecture, who has a background in architecture, design or whose professional practice is grounded in spatial thinking.
