Jasna Rokegem (Fashion Design, 2015) has been nominated for "Innovators Under 35, an annual list that recognizes outstanding innovators who are younger than 35. The awards span a wide range of fields, including biotechnology, materials, computer hardware, energy, transportation, communications, and the Internet.
Every year, MIT Technology Review selects a list of the most promising innovators around the world. They’re inquisitive and persistent, inspired and inspiring. No matter whether they’re pursuing medical breakthroughs, refashioning energy technologies, making computers more useful, or engineering cooler electronic devices—and regardless of whether they are heading startups, working in big companies, or doing research in academic labs—they all are poised to be leaders in their fields."
The future of fashion is now!
Jasna Rokegem (25) has already made her innovative mark on fashion with her alter ego Jasna Rok. But her revolutionary ambitions reach much further. If it was up to her, we could have thrown our entire wardrobe in the trash and would reserve to wearing only one peace. "It reacts to your emotions, monitors your health, changes shape and colour, and never needs to be washed again. The ultimate item of clothing, to rule them all.
"The whole fashion industry is continuously rushing to create the next collection. One after the other, as fast as they can. Almost no one finds the time to innovate because of that rat race. I believe in breaking those patterns and made it my calling to do so."
