“Most of the stuff I'm wearing have a sort of memory attached to it”

- Tijmen, Audiovisual student from Amsterdam, Netherlands. (@Tyments)

Tijmen’s style in 3 words: My Dad, Camping, Neat.

"I think things like sturdy shoes make me feel comfortable, grounded. Most of the stuff I'm wearing have a sort of memory attached to it, especially the tie. I thought it was a funny tie and would be cool to wear this morning. Everything else was sort of what I had laying on the couch.

I like to think people see me as someone who dresses neat and fancy, but not too much. I’d say my style is quite basic, but with strong and timeless basics."

“I really like to experiment with my clothes, I think it’s because sometimes I like to stand out”

-Karlijn, Audiovisual student from Utrecht, Netherlands (@karlijnscheen)

Karlijn’s style in 3 words: Dark colors, Boots and Leather.

"I really like to experiment with my clothes, I think it’s because sometimes I like to stand out. I also definitely take a lot of inspiration from the people I see walking around at school.

For me, personal style is all about feeling comfortable, like if I feel good in what I'm wearing, it’ll definitely improve my mood for the day. For this outfit, I was in a bit of a rush in the morning, so I just took anything that would be comfortable but would also look good together."

“I hope my style shows that I'm an open person to talk to”

Mette, Audiovisual student from Haarlem, Netherlands. (@mettesteenbergen)

Mette’s style in 3 words: Oversized, Vintage and Random.

"For my clothing I tend to keep it kind of light. I'll almost never wear full black. I think because I use clothes to express my taste in things or, well, my style.

I do like to experiment a lot with it, and not just wear the same thing every day. This morning for me was mostly about wanting to be warm tho, also not wanting to wear the same sweater as I wore yesterday but just making it all sort of fit together.

I hope my style shows that I'm an open person to talk to, and that I'm not judgemental or something like that. I also think being in school does influence how I dress, it feels more open to experimenting and seeing different people around me wearing different things inspires me for sure.."

“I like the idea of being seen as an artist by other people, or at least looking and dressing like one”

-Bram de Crom, Illustration student from the Netherlands (@bramdecrom)

Bram’s style in 3 words: Natural colors, Cool, Comfortable.

"For me, it’s really important to be comfortable, but I also want to look cool. It sometimes ends up clashing, because a lot of stuff I think is cool is also uncomfortable so I’m always trying to find things that are both.

I just recently got this skirt and i think they're really cool, but a lot of people also think it looks kinda weird when i’m in the street outside of WDKA. I’m starting to care a little less about stuff like that tho, so I decided to just go for it today. I kinda like the idea of being seen as an artist by other people, or at least looking and dressing like one. The idea of being an artist is just very cool to me, and I also want to share that with other people through my clothes.

I feel like being in school definitely helps me to feel more comfortable trying out new stuff and seeing what works. Also it’s inspiring to see people wear more unique outfits and being confident in them."

"At WdKA, there are so many different cool styles. I think stimulates me to put effort in my outfits as well."

- Laura(19), Leisure and Event Management student from Rotterdam

Laura's style in 3 words: Vintage, Colors, and.... that's it.

"I love to think about my outfit deliberately. It tells a lot about a person in my opinion, it describes your character. It's important to me to be free in my fashion choices. Today I matched my Rotterdam themed Nike's with the rest of my outfit, so I focused on the color green. At WdKA, there are so many different cool styles. I think stimulates me to put effort in my outfits as well."
