Material Station

The place to build 3D materials

“Explore all kinds of materials and techniques.”

Knowing how objects are made is of great value to designers and artists. The focus of the Material Station is on exploring and experimenting with materials and the manufacturing of all kinds of 3D objects, such as installations, products, sculptures, and machines. This Station features both manual and digital equipment for working with wood, metal, ceramics, and various types of plastic.

At the Material Station, you can:

  • Explore digital fabrication techniques such as 3D printing, laser cutting, 3D scanning, and CNC milling in the Digilab
  • Learn all about construction, woodworking, and handling woodworking In the woodshop, we have a wide range of machines, electric hand tools, and bonding tools
  • Create your own ceramic pottery or sculpture, reproduce products using slipcasting techniques, and experiment with glass and various types of plastics. In the ceramics and plastics workshop, you’ll find both the knowledge and tools for working with these materials
  • Discover how easy it is to work with metals to create installations, tools, or The metal workshop includes various welding techniques, lathes, sawing, cutting, and bending machines
  • The open area provides you with opportunities to work, explore, share knowledge, and meet other students
