Station to Station is a series of public events in which the Autonomous Practices department of the Willem de Kooning Academy (WdKA) collaborates with one of the WdKA Stations to explore forms of self-organisation. Rotterdam-based grassroots initiatives of The Autonomous Fabric of Rotterdam present themselves within the framework of the Station to address self-organisation within art education.

Station to Station #3 is a collaboration with the Research Station. More than 100 self-organised initiatives in the city of Rotterdam make up The Autonomous Fabric – a lively informal network of groups of initiators, designers, artists & activists. What makes these initiatives unique? How do they survive? And with whom do they collaborate? With these questions in mind, 150 of third-year students of Autonomous Practices have wandered out to visit most of these 100 self-organised initiatives. Their visits have been documented in short videos that will be presented at the Research Station.

Come and see what the Autonomous Fabric of Rotterdam looks like and add initiatives to the map that you think should be included! You are very welcome to join us at the opening of Station to Station #3:
